Parliamentarians play a central role in the ratification and implementation of the Kampala amendments, as the related decisions have to be passed by parliament in most countries. Consider becoming active by:
- starting your own initiative for the promotion of peace through criminal justice, especially where your government is not yet in the process of preparing ratification and/or implementation. Question your government publicly on the status of this project, or where possible, submit your own draft bill for ratification and/or implementation. See the example of the member’s bill of MP Kennedy Graham in New Zealand);
- working with other parliamentarians and joining Parliamentarians for Global Action
- supporting the parliamentary process where it has already been initiated (see the example of parliamentary hearings in Germany).
