US Congressional Gold Medal for Benjamin B. Ferencz: On 14 April 2026, Benjamin B. Ferencz was posthumously awarded the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest civilian honor of the United States. The medal was awarded in recognition of his service during the post- World War II Nuremberg trials and lifelong advocacy for international criminal justice and rule of law.
